About me
In my newsletter, Ok So Hear Me Out…, I dive into these topics through a personal lens, using my experiences to explore and critic the world around us. Every piece share ways for people to take action in their day to day.
My career spans work at the NYC Mayor’s Office, Human Rights Watch, law firms, the United Nations, and Congress to name a few. Currently, I’m the Communications Director for Common Justice, the first alternative-to-incarceration program in the U.S. focusing on adult violent felonies. Along the way, I’ve led communications on key issues like gun violence, international conflicts, gender equity, press freedom, mass incarceration, workers’ rights, civil rights, and so much more. I also co-founded a gender equity organization called, The Reclaim, in 2019.
My work as a writer brings in the knowledge I gained through ten years of grassroots advocacy experience. My goal is spark conversation and use my experiences to build bridges to new ideas and perspectives.
You can find my personal bylines in The New York Times, and I’ve written and placed stories over my career in outlets such as the Washington Post, CNN, Essence, New York Daily News, and more. I’ve also been featured in Vox and The Washingtonian Magazine. I’m a proud native New Yorker.
